We purchased a zero turn "swisher" mower from rural king in collinsville. Paid with debit card. We tried to pick the mower up the day after purchase. They looked for the key for about 2 hours. finally found key. then the mower wouldn't start. Put new battery on....

Horrible customer service

I have been shopping the Rural King in columbus indiana for several years. I live 35 miles away, and with gas prices the way they are right now, I consider that "loayaty. I went in this last week to purchase some baby chickens and supplies. I won't be shopping there anymore. First, out of almost 20 containers of assorted chicks, none of them were marked. When I ask an employee, I recieved a complaint session about how she had taken vacation and when she came back, this was how it was. She helped another customer, then walked off and just left me standing there. I stayed in the area, trying to id the chicks, she could see me, and never offered any service. I finally had to go over to her, before I could say anything, another employee walked up to her, and they stood there for at least 5 minutes, complaining about another employee, ignoring me. I was standing within 3 foot of them! Finally I was able to ask for help, which was a joke. She was dismissive, because I didn't know what I was getting for sure I chose more than one type of chick. Which seemed to frustrate her. She ask me "just how many was I going to get"? I said at least 20. She says, then thats what I'm writing on the ticket! I wanted more, but now I was getting upset. I said something about having to pay full price for chicks that I wasn't sure I was getting what I wanted, her repy was "that's the price". When I cashed out at the register, I let the cashier know I was upset, she blew me off also. I was so upset I just paid for my stuff and left. Over $100. I knew if I said anything else, I was going to get all kinds of ***, I was really upset. Then when I got home. The icing on the cake, I was shorted 3 chicks! Rural King just lost a loyal customer, and I work in a factory of 270 people, I am respected there and have worked there for years. I will post this complaint in our monthly company flier, and urge fellow employees to shop anywhere but Rural King.

Customer relations

First of all I would like to say - Rural King is one of my favorite stores to shop at. The store I most always patronize is located in Logansport, Indiana. I am not "pissed off" - however I am disapointed after a recent shopping experience I thought I should bring to your attention that at least a few of the younger male employees at Logansport facility need a bit of an attitude adjustment and a reminder on how to speak to customers courteously.. Of three employees I dealt with two of them spoke down to me - or seemingly to me, trying to make me feel *** after I asked them for assistance) Perhaps they were just having a bad day and normally are not like that.. However, if I were you I believe I would instruct my store manager to have a staff meeting to remind all employees that you are there to help your customers - not to "*** them off" with poor attitudes. Sincerely, john williamson

Shelf price not cost of item

Went to new Rural King in Jeffersonville, In..Very busy. Bought a swing pad..Shelf price under item was $16,99. Rang up as 24.99. Stood in line forever. Finally a girl went and got the tag..16.99..but numbers didn`t match. By that time I just wanted to get out of there..the place was a zoo. I feel they should have given me the difference..new store..shouldn`t have wrong items and prices matched on shelves. Doubt I go back. Can`t get an email to theM. Maybe there is a reason for that!!

Did you ever stop to think, it being a new store and a zoo as you called it that another customer might have placed that swing pad in the wrong place?

I bought 4 tires in July 2o1o from the Wooster Ohio RKO. My bill was over $400 with road hazard. In March, I must of had a low tire and drove on it. I had my mechanic take it off the rim and put another one on so I could take it to RKO. They told me it was not covered...

Change prices at the register

Rural King in Terre Haute is very bad about having sale prices posted on items, but registers charge full price. Bought several items there a couple of weeks ago that were on sale but cashier rung them up full price. This was even after I told her the correct prices. She rang my order up THREE times and it was still wrong. She finally got prices right, BUT charged me for an item that I did not get or have. Had to call management and drive all the way back to Terre Haute for my refund. Then the other day they tried to charge me 34 dollars for a grease gun. It was marked 12.99 in aisle. I checked on website and 12.99 is the correct price. Be warned YOU need to watch them very closely.

I also meant to add that it's our part as the consumer to look at the receipt before we leave the store if we don't want to have to make that return drive. Really people lets start taking responsibilty for our lives.

I wish people would realize it isn't the cashiers fault when a price rings up as it does. The computer is set by a person at coporate headquarters.

I've seen more then one cashier get yelled at for something like this and stepped in right away to help.

If a price is ringing up wrong call a manager over and have then see that the computer tech person needs a call. I've shopped at a Rural King and if there is ever a price difference they ALWAYS fix it if that's what the sign says.

Bought trail mower, store was to assemble, last item, also sold to other one hour later, sold 2x

I buy from rural king often, I don't deserve this kind of treatment, I've been excedingly patient with them, they where very lacks in correcting their mistake,1 week later i still don't have the mower i've already paid for,the only phone contacts have been made by me, it's like the right hand don't know what the left hand is doing? these folks don't care, shrugs off the problem to someone else, no follow-up,my calls only prompting they get. wish tractor supply sold this at a competive price, would be worth the extra. rural king sucks!

Rural King at New Castle, IN

The RK store in New Castle, IN is unbearable to shop in!! There is no air conditioning!!!!!! Today is May 25, we went there to buy flags for Memorial Day, and couldn't stand to stay in there. I guess Wal-Mart gets our money instead!! What a shame!!! It is 84 deg. today and people are leaving their carts sitting and walking out of the store!! I feel sorry for the employees they are not only miserable from the heat, they are catching *** from the customers for something that is not their fault. What is up with this situation??

Tell them to go through affordable tractor. The store I shop at has an account with them, and they carry all the parts for those tractors.

I believe they are out of texas from what the mechanic told me. I would strongly recommend asking them to contact another store about affordable tractor.

I shop at collinsville, but i have gone to the waterloo mechanic. He works with a younger guy and they have both been extremly helpful.

I noticed a comment from Eric Huber telling someone to go shop for China at ..I think he meant Walmart!! Well..I purchased a tractor at Rural King that was made in China.

So it doesn't much matter where you go you'e going to get things made in China. The problem?? Parts!! I was GUARANTEED,by the Muncie store that I would have NO PROBLEM getting parts through RK if I bought this tractor.

Well..Guess what? Muncie passed the buck to New Castle and Bob,in mechanics, has given me the run around since last August. No parts !! :( The $6,000 tractor sits idle and RK does nothing.

8 months and they cannot locate parts. Afrigginmazing !!

The living well heater didn't do as promised

Rural King would not refund my money on the living well heater because it was passed 30 days. My electric bill was outrageous and no one seems to know why. Will never purchase anything from rural king again. When we purchased the heater, the associate said it would not be a problem to bring the heater back if it didn't work as promised. When I talked to the manager, he said he had to know the associates name which we didn't have since he was an employee there and at the display. When did the consumer become the person that these companies no longer care if are happy.

You have to be rather mentally challenged to believe the claims of all those heaters now on the market. You have to use energy to produce energy and some methods may be more efficient but they all cost you.

Buyer beware!! My guess is that their claims are just inside the law with a "catch" to each one.

Sold moldy horse feed

Keep molded horse feed (safechoice) stacked with the good feed. Would not assist in getting to the bottom of stack to get to the good stuff. If they are going to keep the moldy feed for people to buy at a reduced price, they should separate it from the fresh feed. I refuse to purchase feed from Rural King ever again. I also have had problems finding a large cart to carry my feed on and could not get assistance finding one. I also would like assistance loading the feed I purchase without feeling like I am putting the employee out.

I have ran in to moldy feed at my local store as well. They acted like I was crazy when I asked if I could open bags before I left with them to make sure it didn't happen again. I stopped shopping at my local TSC and travel about 40 miles round trip to go to RK but really thinking I should just go back to TSC.

Rural king biased in granting discounts

Rural King currently runs percentage off promotions that are geared toward seniors or women on certain days. Apparently younger males don't qualify for the same customer benefits. I wonder if customer fairness and loyalty goes into any marketing efforts? This is part of the same double standards promotions that they think no one will challenge or boycott them over.(i.e. ladies nights/ ladies get in free) Rural King Supply's main customer base in my area seems to be the ones they leave out of the equality equation. I would shop there more if it wasn't for this!

the biggest problem w/ rk is they are run by x-walmart bosses. so they run like walmart, min wage job, majority part time jobs, never enough people to do the job on hand...made 250,000 the last no tax sat.

but will hire no people.

jasper store average $1,000,000 in sale a month, just jasper store. :(

#271735

well they have the discounts because men are the ones who go to the store the most. They are trying to get more seniors and women, because they have items geared towards them.

You are so whiney and annoying.

Is a marketing strategy. so shut up

I recently experience the same type of return policy on an item not even used for it's purpose. Go to Lowes or a company with a good return policy.

It took K-mart along time to realize that hassling customers on a return was bad business. They have never recovered.
