Rural King review in Knox, Indiana: Don't Trust The Product Reviews

RuralKing.com will not publish bad reviews on their products or customer service. Beware. Ever wonder why all of the reviews are so positive? I posted a bad product review 8 times because I checked back on the site and noticed that only the good reviews were showing. I tried and tried again but no luck. RuralKing.com must be editing out the bad reviews. Do not buy from this company. You can not trust the product reviews. My product arrived damaged, rusty, dented, scratched and looked like it had been repainted. Clearly it is a refurbished unit. Do not buy.

Rural King review in Knox, Indiana: Poor customer service, product not as advertised

I ordered the King Kutter 5' Finish Mower RFM-60-YK. After placing the order I received on average 2 emails each day saying the my order was incomplete. The lady in customer service said that the emails were caused by a problem with the order entry software and that it could not be fixed. I'm still receiving emails about the unfinished order. She also said not to worry because my order was really ok. I also received an email offering a 10% discount on the item that I purchased. The customer service folks refused to honor the discount that they offered me. I received the mower and is it not as specified in the online ad. It is missing the chains that should cover the back. Also, the unit is clearly a refurbished mower that was sold as new. It comes pre-scrached and dented so that you don't have to do that yourself. Do not buy from RuralKing.com. There are better choices for making purchases of farm equipment. Beware!

Rural King Decatur Indiana

I used to like going to the Decatur store until I had to deal with Steve, the assistant manager. Clearly this guy has no brains. I was in there for a good hour trying to find different parts for a sprayer on Sunday and I had asked him for help. He said okay and never came to help me. I was standing there waiting patiently and he just stood there with his arms crossed joking around with one of the employees. 20 minutes later he finally came over to help me and had no clue about what he had in his store nor what he was talking about..I'd be really embarrassed if I were him!

why didn't you know what you needed. and its you fault you stood there for 20 minutes.

you could have walked over there and asked for help. or you could have figured it out by yourself by using your eyes and brain

I PURCHASED A YARD MACHINE FROM RURAL KING FOR ALITTLE UNDER $1000 ON APRIL 6,2012! 1 YEAR 20 DAYS LATER IT WILL NOT START. THAT MEANS I ONLY USED IT FOR THREE MONTHS! THEY WILL NOT RETURN MY E-MAILS OR ANSWER MY PHONE CALLS! I AM HANDICAPPED WITH A TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY WHICH LEFT ME UNABLE TO WALK, THUS THE RIDING LAWNMOWER WAS NEEDED! IF THEY WOULD ONLY TELL ME WHERE TO TAKE IT TO GET FIXED I WOULD BE OVERJOYED! THEY CHOOSE TO DO NOTHING! WELL I CONTACTED MY COUSIN NEIL H, THE EX LIEU-GOVERNOR OF ILLINOIS. The mower has one warranty but the engine itself has a seperate warranty. They don't tell you that.

And it doesn't matter if its RK or any other retailer. And it doesn't matter who the manufacture is. But the better manufactures are putting the better engines in their frames. So usually those engines have less problems.

Not all Briggs and Stratton or Kohlers are built the same. And MTD are the cheapest made with t he cheapest engine. MTD 10 years ago where good mowers but not now. And MTD makes a lot of mowers for the bigger names.

Your entry level John Deere, Cub Cadets are made by MTD. If your looking to buy a name brand tractor from a big box retailer, know it is an MTD.

Ask many questions first. Dont rush to buy.

Did you winterize your mower. My guess is no.

You probably have messed up fuel.

That leads me to this question. How is this Rural King's responsibility?

I purchased a riding mower from Rural king on 7/21/2011. I mowed 4 times total in 4 years, a bad drought last year.

My mower, will not start, 2 year warrenty on it. I took it back to Rural King and now they are telling me that I need a new carbeurator and it is not covered under the warrenty. The cost for that will be 90 bucks. I paid 1170.82 for the mower so that amounts to nearly 300 for each mowing.

How could the carbeurator be bad, I only used the mower 4 x.

I am disabled and on a fixed income and not a happy customer.

My paperwork says it is still under warrenty until July but not according to them.

I have been reading all of the comments about Rural King and how unhappy their employees are not to mention the customers. My question is, do the owners of Rural King read any of this stuff or

are all of these people just blowing smoke as it were.

I see pages and pages and pages of unhappy people from so many stores. Surely it cant be that the employees are just bad ones and really don't deserve to work there. Does anyone know if the owners or Presidents or whom ever have ever seen any of these complaints from employees and done anything to make their work place better?? One with maybe be better managers more human managers instead of what it seems like animal trainers.

Its seems to me that instead of these employees writing anything on this site should be writing to the BBB or their local Labor Relations in their state and or town. I feel for you all and hope things get better for you.

I just purchased a battery for my lawn mower that was listed for $29.99 the cashier rang up yhe wrong price and when i questioned it i was sent to customer service and the lady was so rude i could not believe it but she finally gave me back the differance then she told me i should have gotten 10% off my entire purchase but that it was my responsibility to know that not hers. Iwasever so disgusted in my life and i told her i should return everything and get it at walmarts and she said go ahead is this how you want to treat your customers? The Exide rebate center number is 1800-935-5706 brief hold they ask you where you bought it and your name and they tell you your status... Mine goes out Mon. I'll keep you all posted.

You can call the Corp store in Mattoon, IL and ask for customer service. The store should have been able to take care of you on the spot but once you get in contact with Corp your problem will be resolved quickly.
