Rural King - Review in Shopping category from Lemont, Illinois

Details
What happened to Raymond at the Terre haute store? He was the only person in management that any after chemical knowledge. I was in there on last Saturday, wanting to talk to him about my order. Another told he left for a better paying job, all I'm saying our farm dollars are going with him. That robin lady who is the store manager is clueless about customer service and ag chemicals. The rural king told this clueless is now going to be a district manager, we both laughed so hard, her lack of product knowledge and poor customer will do rural king in. The employee also stated to me .... These clueless store managers are former Walmart manager. Rural king is not Walmart. I hope a new farm supply opens in Terre haute, because with no Raymond there now, it will go down hill. Hire more qualified store managers, I'm going back to tractor supply company, good bye rural king

Rural King in Du Quoin, Illinois - Poor service

I wouldn't advise anyone to buy any gas operated products from Rural King. Rural King does offer to repair any gas operated product, but all they employ is minimum wage mechanics that couldn't fix a one horse race. To get a replacement or a refund on a RK gas operated product is almost impossible!!! I personally have had horrible luck with any of RK gas operated products and have bought several products including a gas generator, gas chainsaw and a gas riding lawn mower. RK couldn't fix and wouldn't replace sense the first day of purchass. All new and went into the junk pile.

I'm a small part time famer in Hume,IL. Rural King has gone downhill. In the past 20 years, you could go into the Terre Haute or Paris,IL Rural King and get a staff that was farmer friendly and cared about the least expensive farm use chemicals. In the past 12 months,...

1008 John Hancocks...and we got Farm and Fleet's attention....I'm so pleased with the owners making offers on land to build in Terre Haute, Effingham, and Evansville....Don't be mad with Kermit...he is an old man now.....Thank you Farm and Fleet......If Brian ever answered our calls about the poor customer service in the Paris, Il and Terre Haute Rural Kings store.........maybe we would have not done this............Who cares if you are growing if your customer service is in the tank........

BEWARE!!! The Rural King in Harrisburg, IL consistantly over-charges. They will ring up a higher price than advertised. Also will charge for more items than purchased. Example just today 3-8-2014. Purchased six bags of horse feed. Checked receipt (something you must do...

This pricing is a corporate problem. They are in charge of price changes.

As a cashier I have this problem quite often! The customer comes down on the cashier for overcharging, but it's not their fault that no one has changed the price in the system from corporate. And you can't expect too much out of the employees of Rural King. They are treated like *** and paid minimum wage.

The company is making money off of the fact that their employees aren't paid much of a wage and most of them are part time because full time isn't available unless they are managers or department managers. Have you ever noticed that your store has a pretty good turn over in employees?

I only stay because I am in school, but when I graduate in September you can bet I will be raising some *** on this company and how they treat their employees. Heck, assistant managers make 24k a year and work mandatory 50 hour weeks.
